Initial Pictures and Results

The Wesport/Weston, CT YMCA team of 17 did well at Y Nationals.   For Men and Women Combined we got 1st place among teams under 30 in number, 4th place in teams under 60 in number and 8th among all size teams.  (Women missed 3rd by one point 229 to 230.)  Men finished 5th.   The bright green team identification T-shirts worked well.  Team hats also worked well except that the ears got burned.   Every one of the 15 who swam individual events got a medal either in the event or on a relay.
We even had John and Linda Phillips to cheer us on.   And tent builders, Jake and Dave, protected us form frying in the Florida sun.  We set 2 National records (Sheila 100 and 200 Backstroke).  In addition, Jill (400 IM), Marcia (1650), Jack (400 IM, 200 Fly, 500 Free, 50 Back) Joan Campbell (almost every event she swam) and Mike Laux (50, 100, 200 Breast, 100 , 200 IM, 100 Fly) also raced to first places.  After some problems, we were also able to get most of the medals.

While all this was going on, Jared went to Zones in MD and did a 58 in the 100 Breast Stroke.  Congratulations!  Check-out the results here.
