The 2001 Y National Meet was fantastic.  The facilities fabulous and good times, good fellowship and a super social with about  1,000 enjoying a great meal of chicken marsala, salad and penne pasta from Carrabba's.  The Mote Aquarium exhibits were open for our exclusive viewing and the disco dancing went on for hours after I left at 9:30 - everyone was having a ball.  Definitely the best I've been to - well over 600 swimmers and great competition.  We were finished about 2:30 each day.  Next year will be ISHOF, but I doubt they can equal the entertainment, etc.  If you people pass that, I will probably go with a group down here.  I don't know just where I ended up - you can see from the results.  I won the 200 breast with a 3:59, took 3 seconds and 3 thirds.  I still had June Krauser in my age group and unfortunately did the 400 IM and 1650 the first day, which rather exhausted me for the second day.  Anyway, excuses aside, it was a good meet and I (our team) was in 17th place after the first couple of days out of 42 small teams.   George Brunstad was up there too but he left for the swim in Fort Lauderdale without doing all the events.  No one got near my 1650 National record, including me, so it is still standing.  Sorry you all missed it.
