2001 USMS Short Course Nationals

Santa Clara Swim Club is proud to have hosted the 2001 USMS Short Course National Championships at the George Haines International Swim Center, for the 1849 swimmers who entered the meet.  We hope that all enjoyed their time at the meet.  

 

Connecticut Masters finished 19th as a combined small team with 211.50 points. 

The women were 15th with 131.50 points and the men were 30th with 80 points.

In the 19-24 age group - Jenn Dowling placed 1st in the 200 Breast, 2nd in the 100 Breast, 6th in the 200 IM, 9th in the 100 free and 10th in the 50 free.

Wendy Simon placed 4th in the 50 fly, 4th in the 100 fly, 8th in the 100 free, and 11th in the 200 free.

In the 25-29 age group - Darcy Nelson placed 8th in the 50 Breast, 8th in the 100 Breast, 17th in the 100 IM and 18th in the 50 free

Merin Boehm placed 13th in the 200 free, 14th in the 500 free and 14th in the 50 fly

In the 55-59 age group - Ann Louise Onton placed 5th in the 100 fly, 5th in the 200 fly, 5th in the 200 back, 8th in the 100 back and 8th in the 50 fly. 

In the 60-64 age group - Margit Jebe placed 1st in the 200 Breast, 2nd in the 100 Breast, 2nd in the 50 Breast, 3rd in the 200 Back, and 3rd in the 200 IM.

And Joseph Zelson placed 2nd in the 1000 free and 7th in the 500 free. In the 65-69 age group George Burnstad won the 1650 free.

And finally in the 70-74 age group - Charles Urstadt placed 3rd in both the 50 and 100 Breast.
